OPENING UP AMERICA AGAIN: Phase I
Outpatient Surgical Centers are open, and each facility requires their own protocols for the safe care of non-COVID patients. Here are some of the similarities:
Wear face covering/mask and maintain physical distancing.
Expect to receive multiple verbal screenings for respiratory illness / COVID-19
If you have a fever, recent history of exposure or are having an EGD/Upper Endoscopy, you will be required to have a rapid COVID-19 test. This could be in addition to any required pre-admission testing such as a COVID-19 swabbing.
The facility will review their patient drop off/pick up policies and caring methods for assistance.
Please be patient as strong infection prevention protocols are in place as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and appropriate state guidelines for performing COVID-19 safe surgeries.
